Many
of us abuse our spines without realising and it is the hours of
driving, sitting, watching television, bad lifting technique and
lack of exercise that when piled on top of an already slightly
injured spine eventually causes problems. Recent research has
shown that many people of 35 plus who present with back pain have
often had their first bout of back pain at 18-21. Low back pain
can be acute pain across the back, down the legs or into the groin
or it can just be an ache with reduced trunk bending. Some
people suffer from herniated discs and these can also be effectively
treated by chiropractic rather than resorting to the surgical
options on offer. Disc problems can appear as very bad leg pain
all the way down into the foot as well having back pain and reduced
trunk flexion. Early chiropractic treatment is advised. Treatment
involves restoration of normal function for the reduction of pain,
followed by rehabilitation of the back muscles. Rob always offers
a maintenance treatment option to keep the spine serviced in the
same way as we all have our teeth and cars regularly inspected
to prevent future problems.
